Family Vacation

Well Sheldon and I took our first vacation with Nicole. We went to San Diego and it was so much fun. I had this bright idea that we would drive in the night so Nicole would sleep, well we found out she HATES driving in the dark. Not sure what it was but that was not a very fun drive. She cried most of the way until it got light. And between beaver and Cedar City she had cried so much that she threw up. Luckily I was holding her so it didn't get on the car seat or anything else. We ended up pulling over somewhere between Mesquite and Vegas at one of those truck pull out spots and slept. Well we finally made it to San Diego at about 3. We got to our condo unloaded and just walked around down town for a while. The next day we went to Sea World and had a blast. Nicole and Sheldon feed the seals and while he was feeding one, a stupid bird came and took the fish, once right out of his hand and again out of the air when Sheldon and threw it to the seal. On Sunday we went to a Naval museum that was really cool and then on a Harbor cruise. On Monday we just hung out at the beach even though the water was freezing. Nicole liked playing in the sand and I have decided she must be irritable to it. When we went to Lake Powell she got a horrible diaper rash and every time we would go to the lake and she would just play in the sand again horrible rash and now she has a horrible rash. That girl and all of her allergies I hope she makes it some what happy through life. Anyway our last day was tuesday and we went to La Jolla and just watched the seals for a while and walked around. Then we went to Vegas and stayed the night. No more driving all the way that is just crazy especially with a 1 year old. On our way home Wednesday there was a horrible accident about 30 miles north of Vegas and we got stopped on the freeway for about 3 hours. That made the drive home miserable we decided next time we are just going to fly.

When I started this blog I had real good intentions of updating it often, but now it has been almost two months since the last entry and too much to add, so I will add what I think is most interesting. I decided to go back to school and now I am 7 weeks into it and am loving my classes. Life is really busy and in the middle Sheldon and I found a new house to move so after 2 weeks of school we moved from Clarion to Axtell, (7 miles). For those of you who know it is Sam Brown's old house and we love it so far. We have been here almost a month and Nicole adjusted really good. We adopted a new cat with the move and Nicole loves to beat it up. Sheldon did his second derby and did pretty good. His gas pedal broke so he could only go when someone hit him and he got momentum. He got second in the wipe out which is pretty good for only his second time. He already has big plans for next year but we will see if I let him do another one. He says he is still going to fight, but he hasn't been to practice since June so I'm hoping that is done, but his new thing is he wants to be in a Rodeo and ride a bucking horse. Oh I sometimes wonder what I got my self into. Our dog Junes likes to chase cars, well the other day as I was going to town I ran her over. I was late so I didn't stop and then when I got home I couldn't find her. So I had to tell Sheldon and he wasn't too mad but started looking on KSL for a new dog. He found one, called and got it, then like 20 minutes before he got home I found her (2 days later). We think Junes has a either broken or dislocated hip and has cuts all over, but she moves so that is good. The new dog which we haven't decided its name yet is rambuncious and the two dogs look a lot alike. We have started pumpkins and sheldon is gone almost everyday. This year he has a semi and big trailor so he hauls more so he gets to be home one or two days a week besides sunday which makes it really nice. I've been helping my mom and at first I was not liking it very much but while I was picking I started to have ideas of how I could decorate my friends front porches and then it made me want to find the best ones. And picking in the field wasn't so bad. I haven't decorated very many of my friends mostly because when I thought of this most of them already were but next year we'll see what happens. Well I think this is all for this time and hopefully I will add more sooner than later.

august 2009

Well it has been quite a while since i have last updated. Sheldon raced again on the 24th of july and got 2nd, but we still love him. He has decided he wants to do a back flip on his 4 wheeler. So to practice this he takes some pedal bikes to Gunnison res, gets a ramp and jumps them into the lake. I think he has a few years before i will really have to worry about this goal. He can land a front flip, but he is not even close to a back flip. If you want to watch they are posted on youtube under "jumping bikes into Gunnison res". He is getting ready for the sanpete county fair with his derby car and the hide race. That is the 27th-29th of august. I really need to look into life insurance for him. Nicole will be 1 on the 29th of August. I can't believe the time has went by this fast. She is walking and can surprisingly understand a lot of what you say. She loves to give kisses and push cars or tractors on the kitchen floor. It is amazing to watch how she teaches herself new things and when she has a problem, how most of the time she can figure it out. Like she was having the hardest time pushing the cars on the carpet, but soon learned it is easier to push them on the kitchen floor. Now she just takes her cars and crawls or walks to the kitchen then plays. Oh soon she will be going to school and i will wonder what happened. She is having her birthday party on saturday the 22nd because Henry & tegian are getting married on the 29th and it is also the fair. we are taking her to Gunnison res, because she just loves to play in the water or ride in the boat. I am like a chicken with my head cut off. I got done with girls camp, which was so much fun. The madsen family was nice enough to let us use their cabin up by Levan. We had 26 girls go and it was a lot of stress getting it ready but i have no complaints the girls were are very good. I have also taken up biking. We (my mom, aunt julie & cousin millie) try to bike at least 5 miles a day, but sometimes we have to make up our missed days and it ends up being like 10 to 15 miles. It wasn't too bad until i got a bike cart for nicole that pulls behind, the seat that i used to use was much easier. But it is all to get in shape so i guess that is good. I am getting ready for my 3rd year of teaching preschool with Jen Stewart who without her i don't think i could do it. We really do have the best preschool around. And in all of this i decided it was time to go back to school. I have my associates with an emphases in elementary education, but now i am going to business. I will see how far i will get with this degree i hope to finish with a bachelors. Well it is late and i have a lot to do and hopefully i will keep this more current. I really am blessed to have such a good husband and great friends and family to help me with all the things i choose to do.

Family Reunion, the 4th, & Lake Powell

Well it has been quite a week. It started out on the 2nd with our first ever Roland and Pauline Beck Family Reunion (my dad's parents). It was held at my parents and we had a lot of fun. We had a four wheeler course that the younger kids loved. I think the mud hole was the favorite. We had horse rides and all sorts of other activities. It happened to fall on my birthday. Which is the 3rd. It was a day of running around getting things ready for the town's 150 yr celebration and the 4th. It ended with one of my favorite things Fireworks. On the 4th Sheldon was in the Beck Family Farms float. Our theme was "Knockout hunger and boredom." He had to dress in his MMA clothes and fight Duval (nephew) and tate (a neighbor) it was kind of funny. Nicole and I watched the parade. It has been almost 15 years since i have watched the parade and not been in it.
On Monday the 6th we left for Lake Powell with my brothers and sisters (except randy, kirsti, & tommy), neices and nephews, and my aunt and uncle, cousins, and some friends. we had a good time, even though we had some injuries. On tuesday i rode the tube behind loni i was getting mad because everytime there was a good wave he would slow down, so i told him to keep going to we could hit it, well i my finger rubbed on the side of the tube and it rubbed off some skin, but it is all good. On thursday after i felt recovered from tuesday i was helping ambri knee board and we had to find a little island that had some rocks coming out that were still in the water, after helping her my dad came back to pick me up i fell on the rocks and cut my leg. Later i went riding the tube with sheldon, xavior and danny. we went for a while and one of the tubes was way flat and we hit a wave and i got caught in a strap but half of me went off. I bruised my hand where it got stuck but in the mean while i pulled my hamstring. It hurt almost worse than labor. Now 2 days later it still hurts. But that is the price you pay for having fun. We ended up coming home early because Nicole had a allergic reaction to something and had blister like bumps all over. they didn't seem to bother her much but we just felt so bad for her. She also cut 3 teeth while we were there, 2 on the top and 1 on the bottom. She is no longer a snagel tooth. we also came home so sheldon could go to a motox race at RMR. He didn't do very well this time. After getting the hole shot (you make it around the first turn first) just before the last tap he over shot the jump before the finish line. He ended up coming in 3rd that round. The next round he crashed and went flying off his bike and it rolled. He is okay just some bumps and bruises. His bike is good too. He ended up taking 3rd over all. His next race is on the 24th.
Nicole is growing up and has such a personality. She is so fun to just watch as she entertains herself. She has a red head temper though. She is a daddy's girl. If she doesn't get to see him before she goes to bed she doesn't sleep good at night. But if she can she almost sleeps through the night. They really have a lot of fun together. I can't believe she is almost one. The time has just flew by. well that is all for now.

Sheldon and his sports

Well if you don't know my husband Sheldon lives life on the edge. His love is racing his 4 wheeler, but since he can't do that year round he has gotten into MMA fighting and derbies(even though I told him this is the last year of derbies). He has raced for the last 4 years and only lost 7 races out of about 30. In his fighting he is 3-1. And last year in the derby he got flipped over 2 times. Also at the county fair he set two new records, the fastest hide race and the fastest motorized barrel race. I will keep you posted on his up coming events.

My little gardener

My sweet little daughter makes me laugh everyday, but the most recent is when we garden. She loves to play in the dirt and when she watches me pull weeds, she has to also. When she can't pull the weed she gets so mad at them and starts screaming. Then she will kick it until it is just destroyed. And when we come in she gets so mad at me that she will scream for a good 5 minutes. Grandma I think she is defiantly your grand child.

Sunday, June 14, 2009

Well I am finally doing a blog. Well here it goes. Sheldon and I have been married for 3 years. We got married June16, 2006 and we have a nine month old daughter Nicole. She is such a character. She crawls, babbles, gets into everything and is so much fun. I can't imagine life with out her. She loves to explore, learn and discover new things and it is so much fun just watching her. Yesterday we took her to Gunnison Res. for her first time boating. She loved it... well almost all of it, she hated wearing her life jacket. She loved riding in the boat, riding on the tube with her dad watching the boys ride the tube and eating jerky. She has turned into a total momma girl. She has to go everywhere with me and when I leave her with someone (even dad) she gets mad. We have been so blessed because really she is such a good baby.
